About Danielle Brady Photography

Write some stuff here

If you didn’t know already, I am the girl behind DBP. (yup, that’s me^). I’m a 20-something, nikon girl, obsessed with taking pictures. Yes, I said obsessed. That’s how much I love it. For the record, I write like I talk, so if something I say… I mean write… isn’t grammatically perfect, I apologize. :) I’ve lived in Maine almost my entire life and seafood still freaks me out. The color green makes me feel alive. In my opinion, the best season is fall. This might be due to the fact that hoodies and flip-flops are my two favorite wardrobe pieces. I am passionate about traveling. There is nothing I love more than my family, and can’t explain how much I adore my true friends. I lost my dad to cancer when I was 6 years old, and although I miss him everyday and wonder what life would be like if I’d had known him better, that loss constantly reminds me to live life to the fullest. Carpe diem as my aunt and uncle would say. My favorite place in the world is in an adirondack chair in front of my cottage watching the sunset over Lake Ontario. The coolest place I’ve ever lived was in Cork, Ireland. It was only for 4 months, which if you were wondering, was not nearly long enough. Driving in my car with no particular destination in mind, the sunroof open, and music turned up loud is one of my favorite activities. If I could only eat one meal for the rest of my life, it would involve grilled cheese and mint chocolate chip ice cream. This is probably because I can’t cook to save my life — my awesome brother got that skill! My all-time favorite movie is Titanic. I am in love with love. Hopeless romantic? Guilty. And I’m the messiest perfectionist you’ll ever meet. (Seriously, I can spend up to 30 minutes perfecting an image in photoshop, but can’t take 5 minutes out of my day to clean out my car).

Did I go to school for photography, you ask? Nope, I actually went to school at UMaine for psychology and child development. While I was there, I took the only 3 photography courses offered at the time. Using my mom and dad’s old pentax 35mm camera, I fell in love with black & white film and developing my photos in the darkroom. During my last semester, I bought my first DSLR and my professor was kind enough to take me under his wing for an independent study class. I focused on photographing people for my semester long project — and discovered that I loved it. The rest is history! After a lot of researching and reading and a LOT more practicing, three years later, here we are. I can’t thank all of my first and original clients enough who have stuck with me during the true portfolio building stages of this business. I love you all.

Now that you know a little about me and my life, I hope you think we are a perfect match. Because I would LOVE to photograph you and your story. ♥

p.s. Thanks to one of my bffs & fav photographers, Kristin from Sweet Life Memories Photography, for taking the above pictures of me. She rocks.
